Abstract

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the relationship of emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationship and psychological well-being in nursing students. Methods: Data were collected from 350 nursing students and analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Emotional intelligence has a significant positive correlation with interpersonal relationship and psychological well-being. Emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationship and gender were identified as significant predictors of
psychological well-being which explained 50.9% of the variance in psychological well-being. Conclusion: The results from the study could be a good empirical evidence to develop counseling and educational programs for nursing students.
